Daddy’s Birthday

Bob the Builder

If anyone complains to you about how difficult it is to assemble Ikea furniture. Please let them know that Lilah Rose at the ripe old age of 2 1/2 years old built an Ikea Kitchen table.

I employed Lilah’s help on building almost all of our Ikea furniture shortly after we moved into our new home at Calle De Acala 78 6izq. During this period of construction Lilah insisted we refer to her as “Bob the Builder”, and would be sure to tell us “no mommy Ima Bob da builder” should we forget and refer to her as Lilah.

Regarding the kitchen table, Bob inserted the screws for the legs, attached the washers, started the bolts and even tightened the bolts with the mechanical advantage of a socket wrench all I had to do was hold the leg straight and put the last 1/4 turn on the bolt of each leg.

I must say that the pressure goes up considerably when your 2 year old is holding the nail and helping with the hammer, both of which Lilah, sorry Bob, insisted upon as we attached the back of the book shelf.
